Cultural Centre (not approved)

The owners of Millbank Tower believe that its heritage status as a premier example of post war modernist architecture lends particular resonance to their vision of its future use as cultural centre.  Its location adjacent to the Tate Britain and Chelsea School of Art mean that this area could become an arts destination on the north bank of the Thames.

The site is already being considered as a potential future home to a new learning centre and memorial to the Holocaust but this is only one option and the developers are keen to consult locally to establish what sort of facility could bring the most community benefit. This could be a library, art gallery or museum in the several floors of specially designed space that are being allocated to this use.
